Chapter 2 Installation

Hardware installation

Warning! TURN OFF your PC power supply whenever you

install or remove the PCL-734 or connect and

disconnect cables.

Installing the card in your computer

1. Turn thecomputer off.Turnthe power offtoany peripheral

devicessuchasprintersandmonitors.

2. Disconnect the power cord and any other cables from the back of

thecomputer.

3. Remove thesystemunitcover(refertoyouruser'sguidechassis

user'sguideifnecessary).

4. Locate theexpansionslotsattherearoftheunitandchooseany

unusedslot.

5. Remove the screw thatsecuresthe expansion slot cover tothe

systemunit.Savethescrewtosecuretheinterfacecardretaining

bracket.

6. Carefully grasp the upper edge of the PCL-734 card. Align the

holeintheretainingbracketwiththeholeontopoftheexpansion

slotandalignthegoldstripededgeconnectorwiththeexpansion

slotsocket.Presstheboardfirmlyintothesocket.

7. Secure the PCL-734 using the screw you removed in step 5.

8. Attach anyaccessories(i.e.aDB-37cable,etc.)tothePCL-734.

9. Replace the system unit cover. Connect the cables you removed in

step 2. Turn the computer power on.
